Principal Amy Newton Christie has been successfully running Amy Newton Dance Studios since 2001. With 20+ yrs of experience in teaching. She completed a diploma of dance covering Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, voice & theatre. Amy's main form of teaching  classes is Hip Hop, Jazz & Contemporary. Originally a self taught dancer in Hip Hop, she began at the age of 16 teaching throughout the regions of Victoria in government Schools and community centres. She produced her very first dance concert with 40 students at the age of 16 at school sparking her love for teaching, before opening her own school at the age of 23. Outside of the school Amy choreographs for other events, such as school productions, debutante balls, weddings gigs and competitions. ANDS caters for all ages and abilities from 4 through to adults. Dance can be a fun hobby for some students or a keen interest for a dance career. Amy involves herself  and students in diverse activities and workshops, professional training throughout the year and has great contacts with current industry professionals, dancers and choreographers throughout the country. Having students go onto professional training dance schools in Melbourne or pursue agency and talent work.

We have a strong line of staff full of talent & experience giving all students a great environment for learning and being challenged.

ANDS remains to be popular and well known for our Hip Hop. We keep updated with new age hip hop drills, movement and encourage freestyle for students to find their own unique styles.

In 2010 Jazz & Contemporary was also added to the school which has gained more and more popularity each year. 2018+2019 ANDS added Ballet, Tap & Acro classes.

 As of 2021 now adding NEW COMMERCIAL CLASSES!



Concerts are the best part of the whole year! When all the hard work of training, choreography + costumes all hit the stage with special affects and lighting!
